...is a completely misleading title for this blog post because we really have no idea what it is. What we do know is what we can glean from this exceptionally vague quote:
"Although I've enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world. The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me."
Right. Did that clear anything up for you?
What we do know for sure is that the new book is geared toward a more adult audience and that the title, date of publication and details about the book will be released as the year wears on.

Newly Notable -- The Next Jodi Picoult!
So...you've been waiting, too, eh?
There are those of who are die hard fans, and then the moderate fans. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't fall in to one of those categories where Jodi Picoult is concerned.
Enough philosophy! The point of my existential rant is that is that the new Jodi Picoult, Lone Wolf, gets unleashed on the world this week Tuesday.
While the overall reviews are mixed, one thing has turned up over and over again: Picoult does an amazing job of researching and relaying wolf-lore (of the non-paranormal kind--there's a character that's a wolf expert).
Not on the waiting list yet? Click on the picture of the book at the right, or call the Reference Desk. We are always tickled to help you ferret away your free time by finding just the right book to bury your nose in.
Happy Reading!

Newly Notable -- Spirits and Wine
The local buzz is great and now it's here!
Susan Newhoff's Spirits and Wine is ghostly mystery set in a small West Michigan town. When a young couple buys a new home, Thing Start Happening (cue mysterious music here).
According to another regional author, Judith Evans Thomas, it is "A spellbinding mystery of timeless love, loss, and a house that holds all the answers. I couldn't put it down."
Newhof lives in a century-old farmhouse in Montague, Michigan and is spot-on with the local flavor and community portrayal.

Attention Book Groups
Here's an older option for your book group, written in 1975. In The Monkey Wrench Gang eco-terrorits take the law into their own hands and embark on a "beautification" program of Arizona and Utah. Their ultimate goal is to blow up the Glen Canyon Dam, and along the way this team of misfits--A.K. (Doc) Sarvis, Bonnie Abzug, George Hayduke, and Seldom Seen Smith--wreak havoc across the Southwest.
